Review: Natural 6D Nano Eyebrow Embroidery

2 months into my eyebrow embroidery and I've finally free some time to review on my experience with Beauty Recipe.

I have 2 issues with my eye brows actually.
1. Sparse brows
If anyone ever noticed carefully (when I do not shade my brows), I have very few and scattered brow hair. On certain angles, I look like I have no brows at all.

2. NO fix brow shape/ Imperfect shaping
Honestly, I have no idea how to draw, shape or fill in my brows. I usually buy an eyebrow pencil and dry to draw something out of nothing. Which sometimes can turn out to be a mess.

& there's one absolute person whom I love her brows: Shermaine

On the search for perfect brows, Jessie ting gave me the solutions to my brow problem. She was very helpful to my situation and sent me down to one of Beauty Recipe's branch.

I visit the Brow studio in early April and I was attended by Eyebrow Designer, Lisa. She's professional in every way and answered my every query in helping me achieve the brows I wanted.

To prep yourself, have the following few questions in mind:
1. What kind of eyebrow shapes do you want?

  • Look for inspirations. I had korean inspired as I didn't like arched brows
  • Not sure what fits your face and features? Ask!

2. What shades of eyebrow color do you want?

  • They have approximately 6 colors to choose from. 3 coffee shades: dark, medium, light and etc.
  • Matching eyebrow shades with your hair color?
3. Is the whole procedure painful?
  • No it wasn't at all! Numbing cream helps!
4. How long is the whole procedure?
  • Do plan about 1.5 hours to 2 hours for the session
5. How long can it last?
  • Usually 1-2 years if well-taken care of
  • First touch up after a month, second touch up 8 month after first touch up.

These were the following steps taken by Lisa
1. Trim and outline
Lisa started off by trimming and outlining my eye brows according to the shape I wanted. She allowed me to check for the correct outline and shape before proceeding to the next step

2. Apply numbing cream
Then she started applying numbing cream on my brows following a cling wrap and left it for about 30 mins to take effect.

 3. Applying strokes with color of choice
Wiping away the cream, she took out a packet with a blade inside and opened it in front of me (To ensure customers that they are using a new set of blade every session). Together with the ink color, she draw every stroke carefully and precisely. To my surprise, I really felt NO pain. The most I heard was scraping sound on my brows.

4. Allow color to absorb further
After shaping and filling in those strokes, she applied another layer of color ink on my brows and left it to absorb for another 15-20 mins. It does helps the color to stay longer.

5. Protection
After everything is done, Lisa gave me a bottle of balm to apply at home. It helps to protect and heal my brows faster. I was told to apply a thin layer on my brows 3 times a day, for a week. Do take note that your fresh brows should strictly stay away from water for the first 3 days too.

Photos will do the rest of the talking.

So... I went to school that very day with my fresh brows to submit my FYP hehe (yay! got A- shiok de)

Day 2 brows

Day 4 brows

Day 6 brows

One week later: after my brows fully recovered

In my opinion, you should try to stay home for the first week because week 1 brows are very thick and dark. Many laughed that I look like 蜡笔小新 HAHAHHA. But I honestly love my brows now because it is very natural and I don't have to spend much effort on it anymore.

After 1.5 months, I went back for touch up!
Same steps taken by Lisa.

Before touch up, you can see the ends is almost fading

Day 4 touch up brows

Enough said.
I'm very satisfied with my experience with Beauty Recipe and having Lisa as my eyebrow designer!

Hong Kong (Part 1)

It has been a while since I wrote here.
I've been lazy and unmotivated to update this space, but recently, I met someone who pretty much inspired me to blog again.

--
Anyway, I just returned from my Hong Kong trip and now I'm down with slight fever and flu
*sobs* what luck I have.
It was an impromptu trip. How? So it goes like this...

I was having dinner with a friend, Hong Hao, at this Cantonese restaurant Mitzo somewhere in Somerset. Every dish there was SOOOO satisfying which made us crave for more (or even the actual cantonese dishes in Hong Kong). So crazy me suggested that we should probably fly to Hong Kong to eat. And TA-DA! Within the next few days, we booked our flights and accomodations and YAY! WE ARRIVED IN HONG KONG!
Yes yes, I like steady friends. I like people who love to travel as much as I do.

It's a pretty chill trip as we both have been to HK before. So actually, we didn't explore much. Basically everyday, we EAT, SHOP, SLEEP, REPEAT.
(hahaha, many people are complaining that I've been snapchatting too much food during the trip :'))
Anyway, if you haven't follow me on Snapchat, add me! @kerrqi

And the following are some visuals from the trip, without edits.

Whee! New console, new system!
Last minute crash course some simple cantonese dialogues :')

Yung Kee Restaurant
Famous for: Roast goose
32-40 Wellington Street, Central, Hong Kong
5 minutes walk from MTR Central Station (Exit D2)
Price: $$$

I didn't even had time to digest that roast goose, and was dragged to the next eating place.
Mak's noodle was closed, thus we settled for this.
(I forgot the name but it's just opposite Mak's noodle, hehe)

AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE SOOOOOO FREAKING FLAVORFUL!

Had a few drinks at Lan Kwai Fong before heading back to our hotel's sky bar.
